I [Baymax] E-Poetry

As I ♥ E-Poetry continues to develop as a collaborative resource, it is important to recognize those who work behind the scenes to keep this site current. This semester, I had 6 UPRM students enrolled in my Digital Humanities Internship course who brought I ♥ E-Poetry to Pinterest, redesigned the blog using the GeneratePress theme, and have written entries, which will be published this week. Who are these remarkable interns who have cared for I ♥ E-Poetry’s health? Here’s an alphabetical listing:

sophiacaraballo

Sophia Melissa Caraballo is a Senior undergraduate in English Literature at the University of Puerto Rico: Mayagüez. She currently works as an intern editor for a/b:Auto/Biography Studies journal, a tutor at UPRM’s English Writing Center, and a writer for the UPRM chapter of the online magazine Her Campus. Her career goals are to earn a Ph.D. in Journalism, specializing in immigration issues and women’s movements.

Edcel Javier Cintrón Gonzalez is pursuing his BA in English Literature with a certification in Teacher Preparation for Secondary School at the University of Puerto Rico, Mayagüez Campus (UPRM). Currently, he is the president of the Association of Future Teachers (AFM), researcher at CeIBA and a peer-tutor at the English Writing Center (EWC), where he demonstrates his adaptability in various areas in the academic environment. He aspires to become a high school and an elementary school teacher, integrating children’s literature in every grade level. His current goals are to get a Master’s Degree in Education and his PhD in Children’s Literature. His current research looks at Children & Young Adult Literature, and Methods and Approaches for teaching English as a Second Language in classrooms. As an educator, Edcel defines himself as a technophile, where he is up to date with technology and how it can be applied in schools.

Hector Lopez is a senior undergraduate student in English Literature at the University of Puerto Rico: Mayagüez Campus. His career goal is to earn a PhD on Modernist and Postmodern literature. He is very passionate with both literature and film and he habitually watches film and reads loads of literature in his free time. He was also an intern in Spring 2014.

Jonathan Negrón is a soon to be English Literature graduate from University of Puerto Rico: Mayagüez. His career aspirations are to become a professional technical writer and a published author. His passion for solving complex mysteries and puzzles is only matched by his love for the arts delving into horror and the romantic macabre.

dalinaperdomo

Dalina Aimee Perdomo is an undergraduate English Literature student at the University of Puerto Rico: Mayagüez Campus, and Secretary for both the English Department Student Association and the film student organization Cinémathèque. She plans on being a screenwriter/director and obtaining an MA in Film Studies. Her hobbies include theatre, photography, and sketching. She is a violinist and currently a member of the band Guaybaná.

Vashtitacoronte

Vashti Tacoronte is an English Major at the University of Puerto Rico: Mayagüez Campus. Her studies focus on literature and writing. She is a blogger, an aspiring writer and an amateur book reviewer.
