As you explore and read this disorienting work, consider how the use of links, mouseovers, animated GIFs, and multiple languages challenge expectations. Take pleasure in its headlines, juxtapositions, and the brief scheduled displays of even more visually charged images of language. Is the persistent background image of a cassette tape meant to be personified? Is this what happens when media stops being the passive recipient of our gaze and starts staring back?
These four works of conceptual verbal and visual art (shall we call it poetry?) are built on the same JavaScript code,which gives you 30 seconds to explore the lines on the left hand margin and then starts a 30 second textual stream of text that grows in size until it overwhelms the screen. Built on Google search results, I presume of both text and images, each work is thematically focused, perhaps as a result of the keywords used. A fascinating effect of the font and textual growth in “Semantic Disturbances” is that when the text starts tiny, it is this illegible, almost imperceptible paragraph stream that grows into readability. When it starts large, it grows to overwhelm the screen, expanding the window size to an alarming size and not crashing your browser, perhaps because it restarts every 30 seconds.
If this work about the growth of Google and the Web, is there a timer? Will it reset? Do we get to start over when it becomes too overwhelming?

Estos cuatro trabajos de arte conceptual y visual (¿los llamaremos poesía?) son construídos a base del mismo código JavaScript, lo cual te brinde 30 segundos para explorar las líneas en el margen de la mano izquierda y luego comienza una corriente textual de 30 segundos que crece en tamaño hasta que abruma la pantalla. Al estar construído a base de resultados de búsquedas de Google, presumo que de ambos textos e imágenes, cada trabajo está enfocado temáticamente, posiblemente, como resultado de las palabras claves que fueron utilizadas. Un efecto fascinante de la fuente y el crecimiento textual es la transición en “Semantic Disturbance”: cuando el texto comienza pequeño, es un párrafo tan microscópico e ilegible que fluye y crece hasta que llega al punto de legibilidad. Cuando se alarga, crece para abrumar la pantalla, tanto que expanda el tamaño de la venta a un tamaño alarmante sin tumbar el navegador; posiblemente porque se reinicia cada 30 segundos.
Si este trabajo trata del crecimiento de Google y la Red Cibernética, ¿habrá un minutero? ¿Se reiniciará por su propia cuenta? ¿Podremos recomenzarlo si se tornase demasiado abrumador?
