Pasantes de primavera 2014

 

Este semestre de primavera de 2014, tuve el placer de trabajar con un grupo de 5 pasantes inscriptos en mi curso de Digital Humanities Internship, e Ian Rolón, un voluntario del semestre de otoño de 2013. Juntos, trabajaron en actividades tales como:

  • Desarrollo de presencia web para La Feria Internacional del Libro.
  • Desarrollo de carteles, recursos, presentaciones y actividades de divulgación para I ♥ E-Poesía en la Feria Internacional del Libro.
  • Ayudando a organizar y organizar el Intensivo E-Poetry 2014.
  • Desarrollar un índice de A a Z por título para I ♥ E-Poetry.
  • Afinando todas las entradas de I ♥ E-Poetry para seguir la misma plantilla.
  • Desarrollar páginas de recursos y vincular las entradas a ellos.
  • Escribir etiquetas descriptivas de texto alternativo para todas las imágenes en I ♥ E-Poetry para cumplir con los estándares de accesibilidad W3C.
  • Escribir nuevas entradas de I ♥ E-Poetry, que se publicarán la próxima semana.

Aquí hay un breve perfil para cada pasante para este semestre, en orden alfabético:

Juan A. Colon Norat is a Senior undergraduate student in English Literature at the University of Puerto Rico: Mayaguez Campus. He is also a film student who has worked in a few short films as Assistant Producer, Screenwriter, and most recently as Director. His career goals are to get a Ph.D in Creative Writing and land a job as both Professor of Creative Writing and a Video Game critic for the magazine Game Informer.
Yaisha Cordero Rivera is a fourth year student at the University of Puerto Rico, Mayagüez campus. She majors in English Literature accompanied with a minor in French Language and Literature. She hopes to get accepted into a Publishing and Editing M.S. program to then become a book editor in the near future. Her interests are currently set on literary theory and criticism and contemporary literature written after 2003.
Emanuel De León is a first year undergraduate student with a major in Comparative Literature at the University of Puerto Rico in Mayagüez (UPRM). Recently chosen as the new president of the Comparative Literature Association, Emanuel proves to be a very energetic and enthusiastic student, constantly forming part and volunteering in various activities, such as the "fifth colloquium: Del otro l'ao queer sexual perspectives", held at the UPRM (and many more). His ultimate goal is to become a Professor and earning his Doctor's degree in Comparative Literature. He believes that education is an essential part to build a greater community. In his free time he enjoys reading, writing and acting (these last two being his passion). He is currently writing a fiction Novel and forms a part of one of his University's theatre group, PAEC.
Pedro Noel Doreste is a student at the University of Puerto Rico - Mayagüez working to obtain a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature at the conclusion of the present semester. He has also studied at the University of Tampere as an exchange student in 2012, and presented what would become his undergraduate thesis at the 2013 International Conference on Medievalism at St. Norbert College in De Pere, Wisconsin. He is currently committed to attend Emory University for his graduate studies in Film Theory, History, and Criticism. His areas of interests include, but are not limited to, Neomedievalism in Film, situation comedies in Television, and the punk aesthetic. In his spare time, Pedro listens to punk and hip-hop, plays with his dogs, and has written a few odd pages of poetry.
Juan is a senior undergraduate student in English Literature at the University of Puerto Rico: Mayagüez Campus. His research interests include ESL linguistics, translingualism, Germanic, North American, and Caribbean literature. Juan's current projects include 'zine poetry and the translation of Roberto Bolaño's "Estrella Distante." He is currently aspiring to an M.S. in speech-language pathology.
Hector Lopez is a senior undergraduate student in English Literature at the University of Puerto Rico: Mayagüez Campus. His career goal is to earn a PhD on Modernist and Postmodern literature.
